Frequently Asked Questions:
What type of people come to class?
We have classes for adults of all ages, body types, and ethnicities!
Our sultry classes are offered to women only, ages 18 and up. You will see
mothers, daughters, grandmothers, sisters, and aunts in our classes.
We offer other dance and fitness classes, not of sultry nature for
Men and Women 16 and up.
If you or your child are under 16, we will gladly refer you to one of the many
wonderful dance studios for children.
What should I wear?
If you are taking pole class, we recommend exercise shorts. If you wear pants, you will still be able to participate, but several of the leg holds will be more difficult. Aside from that, stick with comfy clothes. If you are taking one of the upper level pole classes, form fitting shorts are appropriate. The exposed leg skin is necessary for traction when climbing and holding yourself on the pole. Form fitting tank tops, t-shirts, or sports bras work well for all classes.
If you are taking dance class, we recommend form fitting dance or exercise clothes so that the instructor can see your body and help you to correct your form.
What should I bring?
a bottle of water. We have them for sale at .50 ea
In the cold months, it is wise to wear your exercise clothes in layers, where you can stay warm during the beginning of class, and as your body warms up, you can remove the extra clothing. If it is cool in the building, your muscles can be damaged if you do not properly warm up your body.
Big No-No's
Pole Classes Only:
No hand lotion, body lotion, creams, or oils- you will slip off of the pole.
No rings, bracelets, or watches (hand jewelry)
Wearing rings while pole dancing can bend the ring, pinch your finger, and will definitely put scratches and gauges in the poles!
All Classes:
No food or drinks on the dance studio floors.
No refunds
Shoes- We recommend either taking class barefoot, wearing dance shoes, such as jazz, ballet, or dance sneakers, or high heels. Tennis shoes are okay, but black tennis shoes can leave marks on the dance floor. Please check your shoes and roller skates for rocks, dirt, mud, sharp objects, or anything else that could harm the floors. If you do not plan to take class barefoot, We recommend purchasing dance shoes and skates for indoor use. When it comes to the high heels, or even the stripper shoes, we ask that you wear heels with an ankle strap.
There will be a locker and changing area for keeping drinks, jewelry, and personal belongings. You are responsible for bringing your own lock, whether it is combination, or keyed. (Lockers will be available in the summer. If you are concerned about your belongings, leave them at home or in your car trunk.)
Closing for Bad Weather: If our studio is closed and classes are cancelled,
it will be posted in big bright wording at the top of the home page of our website.
A refund will be given only in the unlikely situation that you come to class during the time on our schedule and there is no instructor present. Important- Please wait until the exact time that the class is supposed to begin before assuming that it was cancelled. Our instructors do their best to be there 20-30 mins before class, but we are only human! If the studio is closed at the time on the schedule, you will be refunded the amount paid for that class only. Please call 405-615-6280 in this situation, so that we can make efforts to get someone to teach the class. We appreciate your phone call in this case, because an accident may have occurred and the owner will need to be made aware of the situation.
How fit do I have to be?
95% of the fitness class attendees are beginners, just like you! Eventually, there will be completely separate classes for highly advanced levels. We are genuinely happy to have you, no matter what fitness level, size, height, or shape. Our poles are of the best quality, made by a company that specializes
in dance studio poles, and are very secure.
Do I need to pre-register for classes and are drop-ins welcome?
pre-registering for workshops is preferred. For regular classes at the studio, it is not necessary. In the next few weeks, we will have our site set up where you can pay online. Drop-ins are always welcome!
Make-up Classes, Cancellation Policy:
The system we are using eliminates the need to offer make-up classes.
We do not offer refunds for changing your mind. If there is an emergency reason to cancel your pre-paid classes, you may contact the director and it will be up to her discretion whether a refund is to be given.
You may pay for classes as you go, or purchase class packages. Once you buy a package, you are not obligated to attend class on specific days at specific times. You will have a set amount of time to attend any of our classes. Prices are the same for all classes. Workshops are a different matter, because we will bring in instructors from across the country, with exceptional experiences and training. Workshop fees will vary. Workshops are not included when you purchase class packages.
Is child care offered?
We are in the process of inquiring about the legalities of offering child care at our studio. If at all possible, we would love to be able to give mothers the convenience of bringing their child to the studio. There are rooms in the building that can be added on as part of our business in the future.
Our hard wood floor is constructed over a sub-floor, giving spring to the floor and preventing injury to your body. Some dance studios and gyms place the
wood or tiled floors directly over concrete and this can cause many
problems with your body, including pain in all parts of the feet, shin splints, lower back pain, hip aches, and knee pain. Continual dance and aerobics on concrete floors or floors placed directly over concrete can damage the body to the point of needing corrective surgery over time.
